Ombrex Consulting
Ombrex Consulting is the strategic and analytical function: security architecture, risk and threat assessment, SOPs, project management, intelligence support, and training design. The analysis is written by people who have run operations of the complexity they describe.
The foundation, strategic and analytical function of the practice.
Introduction
Ombrex Consulting is where an engagement begins. It is the analytical and advisory layer of the practice: the function that reads an organisation's exposure, designs its security posture, and translates intention, constraint, and risk into an operating model that can be used in the field. From there, the model can be monitored, adjusted, embedded through training, and, where necessary, expanded into operational support through Ombrex Group.
The work spans the full arc of a security concept, from the first assessment through to the documentation a team works from and the training that prepares them. What separates it from conventional advisory is straightforward. The analysis is written by people who have run operations of the complexity they describe, and the plans are built by the same practice that has had to deliver against them.
We work with boards, senior security functions, family offices, family-led organisations, and security teams whose risk profile has outgrown the arrangements built for an earlier and narrower threat picture.
What Ombrex Consulting offers
Risk and threat assessment Structured assessment of the actual risk surface: who would target the client and why, through which channels, with what capability, and at what threshold. The output is not a generic risk register but a specific, prioritised reading of exposure that decisions can be built on.
Security architecture and concept development
The design of a complete security concept from first principles, or the redesign of one that no longer fits the threat picture. Ombrex Consulting maps exposure across physical, digital, informational, and cognitive domains, then translates that reading into a coherent security architecture: roles, routines, protective posture, intelligence support, travel coordination, vendor integration, escalation paths, and operating procedures.
This discipline has been applied in the build of an international protection programme for a high-visibility client operating in a complex environment, grown over several years from a small protective detail into a multidisciplinary operation spanning residential security, travel, intelligence support, event posture, and provider coordination. At a more focused scale, the same approach has shaped travel, coordination, and intelligence models for corporate executives and their teams with heavy travel patterns, reputational exposure, or regular movement across jurisdictions. Team building and security training have been an essential part of this work, helping teams understand the concept, align around it, and operate it in practice.
SOP and protocol development
The translation of strategy into operational doctrine. Ombrex Consulting develops standard operating procedures, protocols, escalation paths, and decision frameworks that a team can actually work from. These are adapted to the client's environment, risk profile, structure, and operational reality rather than issued from a template.
Concept implementation and operational alignment
Many security concepts fail in the space between design and reality. The document may be correct, the SOPs may be written, and the intention may be clear, but the organisation has not yet absorbed the change. Ombrex Consulting works in that transition phase, helping new or revised security concepts become usable within the client's existing structure, routines, culture, and operational constraints. This is not long-term programme management. It is the focused implementation phase where roles are clarified, teams are aligned, procedures are tested, resistance is addressed, and the people involved begin to look in the same direction. Depending on urgency, the work combines strategic empathy, change management, team building, awareness, and operational tactics. The aim is to move the concept from paper into practice without breaking the organisation around it.
Security programme coordination
The management of a security project from concept through implementation: planning, coordination, budgeting, vendor and partner oversight, timelines, and the disciplined integration of physical, digital, and organisational workstreams. The same project management foundation that structures every Ombrex assignment, applied to the client's own programme.
Protective intelligence and OSINT support
Intelligence-led analysis in support of protective decisions: exposure analysis for principals and senior executives, open-source assessment, surveillance and countersurveillance considerations, and the design of an intelligence function for clients who hold operational responsibility themselves but require the analytical layer behind it.
Hybrid threat advisory
Assessment and advisory on the way risk now develops across several domains at once, where a digital approach may precede a physical one, and where narrative, reputational, legal, or financial pressure can shape the operating environment before a visible incident occurs. This is the analytical core of the practice, informed by applied research in cognitive warfare and platform-enabled influence, and translated into guidance that boards, principals, family offices, and security functions can act on. Training design and Hybrid Threat Awareness
Training design calibrated to the client's people, exposure, operating environment, and existing SOPs. This can range from executive awareness and travel preparation to operational refreshers, team formation, scenario-based exercises, and crisis communication discipline. The flagship programme is Hybrid Threat Awareness, a structured, insurer-aligned module built on six operational principles and delivered internationally. [Read more about HTA →]
How the work connects
Every engagement is led personally by Björn and Mel and held in-house from inception to closeout: intelligence, planning, documentation, and after-care. Where a concept needs to be operated rather than only designed, Consulting hands directly to Ombrex Group, the operational function of the practice, so that the plan and its execution are never separated.

For sensitive enquiries, a direct conversation is the appropriate first step. Every enquiry is handled in confidence. For enquiries relating to active or imminent risk, please mark the subject line "priority" and we will respond accordingly.
References and operational background are shared in confidence, on request, with serious enquiries. Given the nature of the work, they are not published.
